Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems seeks a Software Test Engineer to verify satellite ground software by developing and executing manual and automated tests. You will collaborate with Software Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mission Operations, and DevSecOps to ensure functionality and reliability across the lifecycle.

The ideal candidate holds a STEM degree (Bachelor’s with 2+ years or Master’s) and has C, Python, Bash experience with automated testing in a space context and an active Top Secret

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field with 2+ years of professional experience or Master’s degree.
• Active U.S. Government Top‑Secret clearance at time of application.
• Experience with C, Python, and Bash scripting for software testing.
• Experience designing or executing automated tests (CI integration, regression suites).
• Understanding of Space operations and translating requirements into test steps.

Responsibilities

• Develop, execute, and maintain automated tests for a mission‑critical satellite ground system.
• Verify software functionality against requirements using simulated mission environments.
• Design automated test suites including regression and end‑to‑end tests.
• Expand test frameworks to improve quality, coverage, and CI/CT processes.
• Collaborate with Software Eng., Systems Eng., Mission Ops, and DevSecOps teams.
• Support customer demonstrations and mission events with verified ground systems.
