Job summary

L3Harris Technologies, Inc. in Palm Bay, Florida seeks a Software Engineer to join the Space Systems team, focusing on developing and maintaining software for integration, test, verification, and operations of deliverable hardware.

This is an on-site role with a hands-on, collaborative engineering environment. You will work across Windows and Linux, using C++, C, XML, and Python, contribute to DevOps practices, and leverage AI-assisted tooling to improve reliability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree with a minimum of 4 years prior relevant experience; Graduate Degree with a minimum of 2 years; in lieu of a degree, minimum of 8 years experience.
• Experience in one or more programming languages such as C++, Python, or similar.
• Experience with SDLC and software integration/testing; strong troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Participate in the full software development lifecycle to create software solutions used to integrate and test complex customer-deliverable hardware.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to define, document, and refine software requirements and designs.
• Design, implement, review, integrate, and test software using C++, C, XML, and Python across Windows and Linux.
• Support hardware integration and test activities, including software troubleshooting, defect resolution, and performance improvement.
• Apply software engineering best practices and DevOps processes to deliver reliable, maintainable solutions.
• Leverage automation and AI-enabled development tools to improve productivity and software reliability.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
