CesiumAstro is hiring a Software Engineer II to support space-centric programs across the DoW and IC. You will build modern full-stack applications for mission systems, integrate legacy software, and develop distributed solutions using microservices and cloud-native architectures.

We seek engineers who thrive in a fast-paced startup environment, with a strong growth mindset and the ability to collaborate with mission operators and space-system engineers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Software or related field.
• 2+ years of software engineering experience.
• Foundation in object-oriented or systems programming (C++, Rust, C#).
• U.S. Citizenship is required or ability to obtain clearance.

Responsibilities

• Build modern full-stack applications in support of space mission systems.
• Integrate and modernize legacy space-related ground and flight software.
• Develop distributed applications with microservices and cloud-native architectures.
• Support on-orbit and ground system integration & test, including emulation and simulation.
• Implement DevSecOps pipelines and secure software practices.
• Develop modern UI/UX interfaces for operators and analysts.
• Collaborate with space system engineers and operations teams.
• Contribute to a mission-focused engineering culture.
