Job summary

CesiumAstro, based in the Denver region, seeks a Senior Software Engineer to advance space-centric programs. You will build modern full-stack applications for mission systems and modernize ground/flight software.

You’ll design microservices, DevSecOps pipelines, and cloud-based solutions, mentor engineers, and collaborate across space system engineers and operations teams. DoD/IC experience is valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or relevant field.
• 5+ years of relevant software engineering experience.
• Experience architecting microservices, APIs, message buses, and high-availability systems.
• Experience with space-based or ground mission software testing and integration.
• Ability to mentor junior engineers and guide design decisions.
• U.S. Citizenship or eligibility for DoD/IC programs and security clearances.

Responsibilities

• Build modern full-stack applications in support of space mission systems.
• Integrate and modernize legacy space-related ground and flight software.
• Develop distributed applications using microservices and cloud-native architectures.
• Support on-orbit and ground system integration, emulation, and testing.
• Implement DevSecOps pipelines, automated testing, and secure coding practices.
• Develop modern UI/UX interfaces for operators and analysts.
• Collaborate with space system engineers, mission integrators, and operations teams.
