Job summary

Axiom Space is seeking a System Safety Engineer to join our team and drive hazard analyses, safety assessments, and risk mitigation for the Axiom Station and associated systems. The role requires a bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of experience in hazard analysis, fault trees, and safety assessments, with a demonstrated ability to work in a fast-moving environment and collaborate across teams.

Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree and experience in hazard analyses, fault trees, and safety assessments.
• Experience analyzing flight systems to identify hazards and mitigate risks.
• Ability to plan, perform analyses, and report results in a fast-moving environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct system-level hazard analyses for Axiom Station, AxEVAS, or payloads.
• Perform safety analyses and document results (PHA, SHA, Hazard Tracking, FMEA, Fault Tree).
• Generate hazard reports and support control strategies including FDIR and mitigation.
• Coordinate with verification and validation to ensure safety-critical requirements are tested.
• Develop S&MA reports/presentations for program leadership and stakeholders.
• Support multiple programs and communicate progress and issues to leadership.
