Job summary

Axiom Space is seeking a System Safety Engineer to join a fast-paced, high-visibility environment focused on the safety of the Axiom Station and related spaceflight systems. You will lead system-level hazard analyses, develop safety assessments, and craft hazard reports while coordinating with V&V and program leadership to ensure rigorous safety adherence.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field and 2+ years of experience
• Experience developing and reviewing hazard analyses, fault trees, and safety assessments
• Analyzing flight systems to identify hazards and mitigate risks
• Planning, performing analyses, and reporting results
• Ability to work in ambiguous, fast-moving environments with proactive problem-solving

Responsibilities

• Conduct system level hazard analyses for the Axiom Station and related systems
• Perform safety analyses and document results (PHA, SHA, Hazard Tracking, FTA, safety assessments)
• Generate Hazard Reports and track safety related actions
• Develop and maintain system-level control strategies including FDIR and hazard mitigation
• Participate in System Safety Working Groups and safety reviews
• Coordinate with V&V to ensure safety-critical requirements are tested
• Conduct anomaly/nonconformance analysis and verification
• Prepare S&MA reports/presentations for leadership
• Provide safety support to all Axiom programs as needed
• Communicate progress and potential issues to stakeholders and leadership
• Implement agile project management throughout the lifecycle
• Take on additional duties as assigned
