Job summary

Star Catcher is seeking a seasoned Project Manager to drive space-to-space power beaming initiatives and manage the Star Catcher Network development from Jacksonville, FL. You will lead planning, budgeting, risk management, and multi-stakeholder coordination to ensure timely, compliant delivery of mission-critical infrastructure.

Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in aerospace/space PM, hands-on space systems exposure, and a proven ability to guide cross-functional teams through complex projects

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, Aerospace, or related field; Master’s or PhD preferred.
• At least five years of experience in project management within the aerospace, defense, or space industries.
• Hands-on experience with the technical aspects of space projects, such as spacecraft design, satellite systems, or space mission operations.
• Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and managing complex projects with multiple stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Developing detailed project plans, including timelines, milestones, and resource allocation.
• Coordinating with executive leadership, engineers, and other specialists to ensure that all aspects of the project are covered.
• Creating and managing project budgets.
• Identifying potential risks and developing strategies to mitigate them. This involves understanding both technical risks and non-technical risks.
• Leading and coordinating cross-functional teams. Ensuring effective communication and collaboration among team members.
• Acting as the main point of contact between the project team and stakeholders, which can include government agencies, private investors, or international partners. Providing regular updates and managing expectations.
• Ensuring that all project deliverables meet the required standards and specifications, overseeing testing and validation processes.
• Ensuring that the project adheres to relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards.
• Addressing and resolving issues that arise during the project lifecycle.
• Maintaining comprehensive records of project progress, decisions, and changes. This includes preparing reports for senior management, customers, and/or funding bodies.
• Analyzing the outcomes of completed projects to assess performance, learn from successes and failures, and apply those lessons to future projects.
