Job summary

Star Catcher in Jacksonville, FL seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer to design and implement electrical systems for the Star Catcher Network and space‑to‑space power beaming spacecraft. You will work on power distribution, communication, and control systems for satellites and other space hardware.

You will lead development efforts, develop prototypes, and coordinate with suppliers while ensuring design compliance with NASA/DoD lifecycle reviews.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • At least five years of electrical engineering experience, specifically in space power systems.
  • Experience leading development of electrical systems for challenging environments and missions.
  • Familiarity with NASA/DoD life cycle and technical reviews (e.g. SRR, PDR, CDR).

Responsibilities

  • Design electrical circuits and systems including power distribution, comms, and control.
  • Develop and test prototypes to verify performance and reliability.
  • Oversee manufacturing and assembly of electrical components and procure parts meeting specs.
  • Engage in R&D to innovate or improve technologies for missions.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to integrate systems into spacecraft and satellites.
  • Create documentation (schematics, specs, test plans) for compliance and reference.
  • Manage project timelines, resources, and budgets for electrical tasks.
