Job summary
Vast in Long Beach is seeking a Pre-Sales Engineer to be the technical bridge between engineering and prospective customers. You will translate system-level tradeoffs into actionable requirements, run proprietary simulations, and represent engineering in customer discussions from first technical talks to proposal and close.
This full-time exempt role reports to the SVP of Satellite Business Development & Commercialization and collaborates with system leads across propulsion and payload.
Qualifications
- BS in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related field.
- Experience with system engineering collaboration on complex tech systems.
- Proficiency with simulation/analysis tools and AI applications.
- Strong customer-facing and communication skills; technical credibility.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor in real-time customer calls and visits.
- Represent engineering in customer-facing settings and conferences.
- Translate capability and constraints into customer-ready material.
- Operate Vast simulation tools to model satellite performance and power.
- Collaborate with Business Development to shape technical proposals.
- Contribute to internal simulation tool development and refinement.
- Apply AI to accelerate technical analysis and deliverables.
