Job summary

Axiom Space in Houston seeks a Mechanical Technician to fabricate, assemble, and maintain Ground Support Equipment and facility hardware used in our space programs. You will read engineering drawings, set up precision tools, and work with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality assemblies and safe operations.

This role may require bending to the needs of critical milestones and occasional evenings or weekends.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Industry certification or trade school training preferred.
  • 5-10 years aerospace experience in hands-on hardware.
  • Experience in aerospace manufacturing, assembly and fabrication.
  • Proficiency with precision tools and measurement devices.

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret engineering models and schematics.
  • Assemble, install, and inspect spacecraft mechanical, electrical, and fluid components.
  • Operate tools and calibrate with torque wrenches, calipers, and micrometers.
  • Mentor less experienced technicians and document procedures.
  • Maintain clean work areas and follow safety guidelines.
  • Collaborate with engineers to develop work instructions and procedures.
