Job summary

Blue Origin is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to define and lead manufacturing direction for vehicle architectures. You will work across subsystems to ensure producibility from inception, enabling early-stage programs with hands-on support and strategic roadmapping.

The role emphasizes collaboration across manufacturing, supply chain, test, and operations, with a focus on DFX, producibility, and design-for-excellence. On-site in Huntsville, AL preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related technical field.
• Deep understanding of development lifecycle from concept to production.
• Experience with GMAW MIG and GTAW TIG welding processes.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the manufacturing focal for assigned subsystems/AI&T activities, establishing manufacturing plans for vehicle architectures.
• Plan and support builds of engineering demonstrators, test articles, and prototype hardware with hands-on fabrication support.
• Drive DFX, producibility assessments, trade studies, and roadmaps to close manufacturing gaps.
• Develop artifacts such as Production Readiness Levels, manufacturing management plans, build strategies, and tooling designs.
• Partner with PM, Design Engineering, and Operations to identify risks and mitigation plans.
• Mentor engineers and foster integrity and continuous improvement.
