Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Hardware Engineer Professional to support the Space Force Range Contract. The role involves designing and integrating hardware, performing system modeling, and coordinating testing to qualify hardware for Range operations.

Ideal candidates have a STEM degree and 3+ years in systems engineering, with proficiency in CAD, test equipment, and both Linux/Windows environments. Some travel and DoD clearance are required. Benefits include comprehensive coverage and 401(k) options.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a STEM field.
• 3+ years of relevant experience in systems engineering or related field.
• Proficient with digital interface design including interface modules, cable/wire types and connector systems.
• Fundamental knowledge of hardware systems integration and testing practices.
• Proficient in reading, understanding, creating or modifying wire diagrams, schematics and mechanical drawings using CAD or other drawing packages.
• Proficient in use of specialized test equipment including but not limited to VOMs, spectrum analyzers and oscilloscopes.
• Familiarization with computer systems including SBCs, servers, and workstations.
• Familiarization with the Linux and Windows Operating systems.
• Flexibility to work occasional non-standard hours or weekends to support mission requirements.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance (requires U.S. citizenship).
• Valid U.S. Driver's License.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, modify, and implement new and/or existing capabilities for existing hardware systems. Perform system modeling, simulation, and analysis to provide the most appropriate technical solution.
• Support testing to qualify hardware systems for Range operations.
• Plan, conduct, and assist in the execution of engineering projects.
• Coordinate with technical support personnel for assigned projects.
• Analyze, develop, recommend and implement approaches to meet requirements.
• Evaluate component suppliers and vendor capabilities.
• Provide leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel.
• Assist with problematic repairs of Line Replaceable Units (LRU's).
• Provide engineering assistance to restore operational systems.
• Support the Engineering team in managing and executing engineering processes to ensure continuity across the SFRC.
• Provide support for launch operations as required.
