Job summary

Rocket Lab, a leader in space technology, seeks a Senior Spacecraft Mechanical Engineer II to drive the development of high-performance satellite deployment systems and bus configurations from concept to production.

You will work within the Space Systems team at our Long Beach headquarters, delivering critical components for missions with NASA and other partners, while guiding design reviews and test programs to ensure robust performance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Support business development with proposals and mission concepts.
• Develop high performance satellite systems, mechanisms, and bus configurations.
• Define mechanisms for modern satellite systems/bus.
• Own designs from concept through production, test, and operations.
• Lead design reviews and test activities.
• Create and maintain product definitions via CAD and drawings.
• Manage schedules, vendors, and budgets.
