Job summary

Kratos Space & Missile Defense Systems, Inc. seeks an Electrical Technician to support manufacturing, testing and operation of electrical systems for sub-orbital launch vehicles. You will read wiring schematics, assemble cabling, and assist with integration under senior staff.

You may travel up to 30% of the time to support integration and launch operations; strong communication and mechanical aptitude are essential. A DoD clearance is required.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of MIL SPEC Cable fabrication.
• Knowledge of power design/power electronics.
• Hands-on experience with electrical cabling.
• Ability to solder small cable assemblies and perform circuit card rework under a microscope.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Computer skills are necessary.
• Valid drivers’ license.
• Military communications or electronics experience or training.
• Knowledge and use of general shop tools.
• Comfortable working around and with ordnance.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Clearance.
• Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
• Ability to work from ladder.

Responsibilities

• Assemble electrical systems and harnessing for suborbital launch vehicles under senior staff.
• Test and operate electrical systems and harnessing.
• Generate test plans and document results; create post-test reports.
• Review requirements and wiring schematics to determine test specifications and procedures.
• Identify and fix issues encountered during testing; communicate solutions.
• Perform launch field assembly and checkout of subsystems prior to final vehicle assembly.
• Assist in vehicle loading and support equipment hookup.
• Support countdown operations by arming electrical systems and operating ground support equipment.
• Generate wiring schematics and ICDs for system integration.
