Job summary

Collins Aerospace is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support Strategic Defense Solutions onsite in Richardson, TX or Cedar Rapids, IA. You will lead MBSE activities, develop advanced nuclear deterrence capabilities, and collaborate across distributed teams to design, integrate, and validate secure mission systems.

Responsibilities include capturing requirements, modeling systems, and performing verification, with opportunities to lead and grow in a challenging defense-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) plus relevant experience.
• Experience mentoring a Systems Engineering team.
• Ability to capture and trace customer requirements and derive system specs.

Responsibilities

• Capture, analyze, decompose, and trace System requirements.
• Design, develop, and model systems and sub-systems.
• Develop and verify test procedures at system and sub-system levels.
• Build SysML models (activity, state, block diagrams, use cases).
• Decompose features into user stories with clear acceptance criteria in JIRA.
• Support project-level work and meet schedule, cost, and performance goals.
• Identify program technical risks from requirements and design.
• Represent system design in internal/external customer meetings.
• Coordinate across functional groups; engage in classified lab environments.
