Blue Origin is seeking a Senior Design Quality Engineer to lead product-quality planning from concept to production readiness. You will partner with Systems, Design, Manufacturing, and Reliability teams to implement APQP, drive risk mitigation, and ensure design quality requirements are met across the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical discipline is required.
• 8+ years of experience in aerospace, defense, automotive, or other high-reliability manufacturing environments.
• Experience leading cross-functional technical teams.
• Strong understanding of engineering drawings, GD&T, and product development processes.
• Working knowledge of configuration management and engineering change processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead APQP activities across the product lifecycle and coordinate cross-functional teams.
• Develop and maintain APQP plans, schedules, and quality deliverable tracking.
• Monitor APQP readiness and identify risks to program milestones.
• Facilitate APQP readiness reviews and support gated lifecycle reviews.
• Facilitate DFMEA workshops and ensure cross-functional participation.
• Review DFMEAs for completeness and action closure; ensure outputs are incorporated into plans.
• Support DFMEA PFMEA/Control Plans development and design for manufacturability.
• Collaborate with Systems Engineering, Reliability, System Safety, and Manufacturing to integrate quality into development and production.
