Job summary

L3Harris Technologies in Wilmington, MA is seeking a Specialist, Mechanical Engineer – Structural Analysis (Space Structures) to perform advanced mechanical analysis on opto-mechanical systems and precision mechanisms within a program team.

You will build FE models, run stress and displacement analyses, prepare reports for design reviews, and interface with customers and suppliers to drive designs to closure. A sign-on bonus and relocation assistance are available.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Mechanical Engineering or related required; MS or 8+ years experience acceptable
• 2+ years of structural analysis experience (FEA and hand-calcs)
• FEA and Pre/Post software experience (Femap with Nastran preferred)
• 2+ years aerospace experience with structural/dynamics focus
• Ability to obtain/maintain TS/SCI clearance

Responsibilities

• Create finite element models of complex components and assemblies for structural analysis
• Analyze stress, strain, displacement, and mode shapes at component and assembly levels
• Prepare reports and presentations summarizing analysis results for reviews
• Interface with engineering team and customers to meet objectives
• Support design reviews (PDR/CDR/TIM) and program reviews
