Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Structural Engineering internship for our Gilbert, AZ Space sector. You will join the Mechanical Engineering Department (Structure Analysis) and contribute to finite element modeling, trade studies, and analysis to support programs.

The role requires full-time availability for at least 10 weeks in Summer 2027, U.S. citizenship, and the ability to obtain a government security clearance.

Qualifications

• Be enrolled full-time in an undergraduate or graduate degree program.
• Majoring in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
• Able to work full-time (40 hours/week) for at least 10 weeks in Summer 2027.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain a U.S. government security clearance.
• Experience with teamwork and ability to multitask.

Responsibilities

• Build finite element models and perform trade studies and analyses to support program schedules.
• Complete pre-test structural analysis and support dynamics testing.
• Participate in or lead analysis group continuous improvement efforts.
• Organize and archive analysis group data and documentation.
