Job summary

Vast is pioneering next-generation space stations and infrastructure from its Long Beach, CA base, with Haven-1 and other modules on the horizon. We seek an Integration Build Engineer to drive human-rated vehicle processes as Haven-1 moves from design to flight readiness, supporting operations with a hands-on engineering presence.

The role requires 2–6+ years in manufacturing engineering, CAD proficiency (NX), and experience with complex hardware across multiple work centers.

Qualifications

• B.S. in mechanical, aerospace, manufacturing or electrical engineering, physics, mathematics, or related technical field.
• 2–4+ years of manufacturing engineering experience.
• 4–6+ years for Senior Manufacturing Engineer.
• Hands-on fabrication, assembly, and/or integration; CAD proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Support operations with Integration Technicians and Engineering REs.
• Be a permanent engineering presence to unblock work and resolve blockers or NCRs.
• Plan, schedule, prepare, coordinate, and oversee tests.
• Collaborate with distributed engineering to define test plans, requirements, and schedules.
• Ensure integration procedures evolve for efficient assembly practices.
• Develop, qualify, and refine manufacturing processes meeting safety, quality, and delivery.
• Collaborate with engineers and technicians to solve production issues.
• Senior Level: act as test director and provide status updates.
• Document non-conformances and drive CAPAs with quality team.
