Vast Space Llc. seeks a Finite Element Vehicle Architect in Long Beach to build and manage vehicle-level FEA models for Haven space station programs.

You will drive structural dynamics analyses informing sizing for strength, mass, and cost, and work closely with design engineers to align models with design intent. You will oversee test planning with hardware owners and expand internal FEA capabilities across future products, reporting to the Senior Manager, Dynamics and Loads.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering (or equivalent).
• Proficiency in commercial FEA software (Femap/Nastran, Abaqus, Ansys).
• Strong grasp of structural mechanics fundamentals for dynamic prediction (damping, beam bending).

Responsabilités

• Create and maintain FEA models of vehicle-level systems and space station program.
• Perform structural dynamics analysis for strength, mass, and cost optimization.
• Collaborate with design engineers in dynamics and static analysis methods.
• Ensure prediction models reflect design intent with the design organization.
• Expand capabilities by validating methods and establishing practices.
• Plan and execute vibration tests with hardware owners and test engineering.
