Job summary

Vast is seeking a Mechanical Test Engineer II to support the development of human-rated space station hardware. You will design, build, and operate test rigs, collect data, and ensure traceability across planning, execution, and post‑test review.

Reporting to the Manager, Test Engineering, you will contribute to acceptance campaigns and collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance test efficiency and manufacturability in a long‑term space program based in Long Beach.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with fluid and/or chemical systems, including fittings, valves, pumps, and sensors.
• Ability to build, operate, and troubleshoot test rigs and hardware from setup through data collection.
• Create test documentation — procedures and work instructions — and maintain test traceability.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate test rigs and GSE for ECLSS systems, owning campaigns from setup to data review.
• Perform testing of ECLSS hardware and troubleshoot anomalies.
• Develop and maintain test procedures and documentation for traceability.
