Job summary

Iridium Communications Inc. is seeking an Engineer I, Software Developer to contribute to SDA project software development and maintenance. The role involves enhancing code for scalability and efficiency, within an Agile team using Atlassian tools, and supporting build environments for releases.

You will collaborate to deliver high-quality software, adhere to project schedules, communicate clearly, and participate in documentation and process improvements as part of a dynamic space program team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science or related engineering discipline.
• Exposure to Agile based teams.
• Working knowledge of one or more programming languages (e.g., C, C++, Python, Java).
• Familiarity with version control tools (Git) and basic debugging practices.
• Strong communication skills and ability to convey ideas clearly.

Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance software for the SDA project.
• Develop optimized code for scalability and performance.
• Work within the Agile/Scrum framework using Atlassian tool suite.
• Support building and maintaining build environments for software products.
• Plan and execute software releases per schedules and budgets.
• Update issues/feature data in Atlassian tools and manage documentation.
