Job summary

Bastion Technologies, Inc. in Houston, TX is seeking a Safety Engineer to support the space program. You will identify hazards, ensure regulatory compliance, and help deliver the safety program across the contract.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of related experience, including 1–2 years of direct safety work. OSHA expertise and a proactive safety mindset are essential. Onsite with travel as needed and a 9/80 schedule.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related field is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of recent and related safety experience.
• 1-2 years of direct, hands-on safety experience.
• Solid working knowledge of OSHA regulations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as an active member of a safety team across the contract.
• Mentor management and employees, assist with procedure development, and review technical documents for compliance.
• Apply proactive safety engagement techniques and tech platforms in the program.
• Identify, assess, and communicate hazards within aerospace test environments.
• Provide guidance to implement safe, environmentally responsible work practices.
• Independently analyze systems and procedures to control hazards.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, NFPA, Johnson Space Center, and state/local regs.
• Conduct compliance audits to verify requirements.
• Support regulatory-required training delivery.
• Other duties as assigned.
