Job summary

Akkar is developing advanced space robotics electronics in Houston. We seek an experienced Electrical Engineer to design, develop, test, and deliver mission-critical flight hardware for spaceflight applications.

You will lead schematic and PCB work, integrate hardware across disciplines, and support design reviews and qualification tests to ensure reliability in harsh space environments.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
  • Experience developing electrical flight hardware for spacecraft or aerospace systems.
  • Strong analog and digital circuit design knowledge.
  • Experience with PCB design tools such as Altium Designer.
  • Experience with hardware integration, troubleshooting, and lab testing.
  • Familiarity with aerospace electrical standards and derating practices.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electrical systems for space robotics, including control electronics, power distribution, sensors, and embedded hardware.
  • Take flight hardware from concept through design, integration, qualification, and flight acceptance.
  • Develop schematics, PCB layouts, cable assemblies, and electrical interface documentation.
  • Perform hardware integration, debugging, and environmental testing (vibration, thermal vacuum, EMI/EMC).
  • Support system-level integration with mechanical, software, and systems engineering teams.
  • Participate in design reviews including PDR, CDR, TRR, and FRR.
  • Investigate and resolve hardware anomalies during development and testing.
  • Ensure designs comply with applicable aerospace standards and quality requirements.
