Job summary

Impulse Space is seeking an RF Engineering Intern for a 12-week summer program in Redondo Beach. You will design, manufacture and test custom RF systems, collaborating with RF, avionics, software and mechanical engineers across multiple disciplines.

The role involves component selection, bench testing, system bring-up, and manufacturing activities, with opportunities to contribute to spacecraft RF development and hands-on lab work. May/June through August/September 2027, on-site in Redondo Beach.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor’s or master’s program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related area.
• Experience troubleshooting PCBs at the board or system level.
• Understanding of RF and microwave concepts (transmission lines, S-parameters, amplifiers, splitters).
• Familiarity with hands-on lab work and test equipment.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and select RF components for system integration.
• Run simulations and generate link budgets for early-stage wireless designs.
• Design and validate RF system designs.
• Work on RF schematics, layout, and manufacturing for test/flight products.
• Utilize CST, HFSS, and ADS for RF front end components.
