Job summary

CesiumAstro in Colorado is seeking a Radiation Effects Engineer II to design, analyze, and verify radiation effects on electronic components and systems for space-grade products.

You will work cross-functionally across electrical, hardware, FPGA, systems, software, mechanical, manufacturing, integration and test teams to support radiation analyses, testing, and mitigation throughout development. The role requires a Bachelor's with 2–5 years (or related) and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical, physics, nuclear, aerospace engineering or related field.
• 2–5 years of related experience in radiation effects engineering.
• Experience with automotive/high-volume parts in radiation environments.
• Strong written and spoken communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform radiation effects analyses for electronic components, ICs, and subsystems.
• Develop radiation assessments, shielding analyses, and worst-case analyses.
• Evaluate radiation environments and guide design decisions.
• Conduct radiation testing, data reduction, and validation activities.
• Analyze TID, SEE, displacement damage and laboratory data.
• Support verification, investigations, and qualification activities.
• Collaborate across multiple engineering teams to support radiation activities.
• Develop reports, test procedures, and design review materials.
