Job summary

Benchmark Space Systems is seeking a Production Engineering Intern for the summer of 2027 at our Burlington, VT site. You will work closely with engineers and technicians to build and test propulsion technologies for small satellites and gain exposure to industry best practices.

As part of a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment, you’ll document assembly work, manage schedules, and support production processes while developing skills in cross-functional collaboration and communication.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering.
• Prior internship or research in space industry is a plus but not required.
• U.S. Person requirement applies; visa sponsorship not available.

Responsibilities

• Create travelers to document assembly processes.
• Manage assembly and testing schedule.
• Develop and manage production processes.
• Document as-built records using manufacturing orders and reports.
• Generate nonconformance reports for issues.
• Identify production improvements to reduce costs and schedule.
