Job summary

Benchmark Space Systems is seeking an Electrical Engineering Intern to join the Avionics team for Summer 2027 in Burlington, VT. You will collaborate with engineers to design, build, and test electronics for satellite propulsion systems, gaining knowledge in industry best practices, design software, documentation, and cross‑functional presentations.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing Electrical, Electromechanical, Computer engineering, or closely related field.
• Previous internship/research in space is a plus but not required.
• U.S. Person requirement due to export-controlled information; visa sponsorship unavailable.

Responsibilities

• Design circuits and PCBs from concept through simulation and layout.
• Create, modify, and review test plans and procedures.
• Perform initial PCB bring-up testing and final assembly as needed.
• Create and manage design, assembly and testing schedules.
• Identify opportunities to improve test processes and workflows for quality and efficiency.
• Document test results, redlines, and test reports.
• Generate nonconformance reports for documentation.
