Job summary

AeroVironment is seeking an Assembly and Integration Technician III to perform optical and opto‑mechanical assembly on space and flight hardware. Key tasks include reading drawings, assembling components, and maintaining data records in a clean room environment.

Qualifications include an associates degree with experience or a longer high school pathway, ESD knowledge, and experience with TVAC/vibration testing. Travel may be required and DoD clearance eligibility is required.

Qualifications

• Associates degree with 5 years technician experience, or high school with 7 years experience.
• Experience assembling and testing space and/or flight hardware.
• ESD fundamentals knowledge.
• Ability to read drawings, assembly and test procedures, and related documentation.
• Experience interpreting drawings and requesting parts fabrication by machine shop.
• Experience mixing and applying epoxies and adhesives.
• Experience with test equipment including TVAC and vibration.
• Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD clearance.

Responsibilities

• Hands-on component and subassembly development and assembly.
• Reading and understanding drawings and call outs.
• Following assembly procedures and recording results and discrepancies (including numerical and graphical data).
• Working in clean room to assemble hardware.
• Incoming inspection and data collection on components.
• Data verification, collection, and organization (component COC/COA/etc.).
• Ability and willingness to perform moderate physical tasks, such as lifting, carrying, bending, standing.
• Performing other duties including cleaning and maintaining laboratory equipment, ordering and picking-up supplies.
• Assisting engineers and other technicians.
• All other duties as assigned.
