Job summary

AeroVironment is seeking an Assembly and Integration Technician III to perform optical and opto-mechanical assembly on space and flight hardware with minimal supervision. The role requires hands-on experience in part inspection, assembly, and clean room operations, including PCB, electronics, and cabling work.

The candidate should be skilled in reading drawings, following procedures, and collecting data. A DoD-active environment may require travel and occasional extended weeks.

Qualifications

• Associates degree with 5 years of technician experience or high school with 7 years experience.
• Experience assembling and testing space and/or flight hardware.
• Knowledge of ESD fundamentals.
• Ability to accurately read drawings, procedures, and documentation.
• Experience interpreting drawings and requesting parts fabrication by machine shop.
• Experience handling epoxies/adhesives and using related test equipment (TVAC, vibration).

Responsibilities

• Hands-on component and subassembly development and assembly.
• Read and understand drawings and call outs.
• Follow assembly procedures and record results and discrepancies.
• Work in clean room to assemble hardware.
• Incoming inspection and data collection on components.
• Data verification, collection, and organization (COC/COA).
• Perform moderate physical tasks and lift up to 25 pounds as needed.
• Assist engineers and other technicians; perform other duties as assigned.
