Job summary

AV is seeking an Assembly and Integration Technician III to perform optical and opto‑mechanical work on space and flight hardware with minimal supervision. You will assemble hardware in clean rooms, inspect parts, and apply ESD controls, including precision PCB, electronics, and cabling tasks.

Candidates should have an associate degree with five years of technician experience, or a high school diploma with seven years.

Qualifications

• Associates degree and five years of technician experience, or high school diploma with seven years of experience.
• Experience assembling and testing space/flight hardware.
• Knowledge of ESD fundamentals.
• Able to read drawings and assembly/test procedures.
• Experience with epoxies and adhesives.
• Experience with TVAC and vibration test equipment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to travel and support extended work weeks as needed.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD clearance.

Responsibilities

• Hands‑on component and subassembly development and assembly.
• Reading and understanding drawings and call outs.
• Following assembly procedures and recording results and discrepancies.
• Working in clean room to assemble hardware.
• Incoming inspection and data collection on components.
• Data verification, collection, and organization (COC/COA).
• Handling moderate physical tasks such as lifting and standing.
• Maintaining laboratory equipment and ordering supplies.
• Assisting engineers and other technicians.
• All other duties as assigned.
