Job summary

CACI International Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer to drive PD lifecycle for advanced optical communications terminals for space applications. The role combines systems-level problem-solving with cross-functional leadership across optical, mechanical, electrical, and thermal subsystems.

You will read drawings, debug hardware, influence manufacturing feasibility, lead pilot builds, DFx reviews, and manage end-to-end product transitions from NPI to sustainment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline is required.
• 5+ years in product lifecycle or manufacturing/process development.
• Systems engineering mindset across mechanical, optical, electrical, and thermal.
• Proficiency with CAD tools, PLM, and data analysis software.
• Experience with precision manufacturing processes and environmental testing.
• Familiarity with DoD or Space environments and aerospace standards.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with R&D, Design, Manufacturing, QA to ensure DFM/ DFA for multi-disciplinary assemblies.
• Lead pilot builds, IQ/OQ/PQ validations, and PRR/MRR/TRR reviews per ISO 9001.
• Own end-to-end manufacturing process development and lifecycle management.
• Lead product lifecycle phases from NPI through ramp, sustainment, and end-of-life.
• Develop project plans with schedules, milestones, risk mitigation across multiple projects.
• Perform root-cause analysis during ramp-up and drive improvements.
