Job summary

FTS International, LLC in Chantilly, VA is seeking a Modeling, Simulation & Analysis Engineer to study and analyze complex space-domain problems in a collaborative environment. The role focuses on orbital mechanics modeling, RF/optical link analyses, and MBSE data integration using SysML.

You will develop MS&A tools, produce supporting documentation, and advise government teams on future analytic planning as part of a dynamic program.

Qualifications

  • TS/SCI with polygraph is required.
  • B.S. in a STEM engineering discipline.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with one or more: C++, Python, R, SQL, PostgreSQL, Linux, MATLAB, VBA, or STK.
  • Engineering analysis experience and ability to present findings clearly.

Responsibilities

  • Perform orbital mechanics modeling and simulation including orbit determination, maneuvering, and flight dynamics.
  • Perform link budget, latency, and throughput analyses for RF and optical space-based systems.
  • Assess satellite payload sensor phenomenology and product quality.
  • Assess end-to-end system designs against Required Performance Parameters and TPMs.
  • Create MS&A documentation: terms of reference, study plans, assumptions, data, results, visuals, conclusions.
  • Advise teams on forward-looking studies to inform analytic roadmaps.
