Job summary

FTS International, LLC in Chantilly, Virginia, is seeking a Modeling, Simulation & Analysis Engineer to join a collaborative team studying a wide variety of interesting and complex problems in the space domain.

The role requires TS/SCI with polygraph, a B.S. in STEM engineering, 2+ years of relevant experience, and proficiency in C++, Python, R, SQL, Linux, MATLAB, VBA or STK; strong communication to present findings to internal and external customers.

• Experience using one or more of the following: C++, Python, R, SQL, PostgreSQL, Linux, MATLAB, VBA, or STK.
• Engineering analysis (collecting, organizing, analyzing data) experience.
• Excellent communication skills that will allow the presentation of findings to internal and external customers.

Responsibilities

• Perform orbital mechanics modeling & simulation (M&S) including orbit determination, orbital maneuvering, and spacecraft flight dynamics.
• Perform link budget, latency, and throughput analyses for RF and optical space-based relay and space-to-ground telecommunications.
• Perform assessments of satellite payload sensor phenomenology (optics/radar/RF) and product quality.
• Assess end-to-end system designs against Required Performance Parameters and identify required Technical Performance Measures.
• Create MS&A supporting documentation to include terms of reference, study plans, modeling assumptions, data input/output, analytic results, visualizations, and conclusions.
• Advise the government and contractor teams of forward-looking and follow-on studies, analyses to incorporate into a roadmap of future analytic planning

The Modeling, Simulation & Analysis Engineer will work in a collaborative teaming and peer review environment studying and analyzing a wide variety of interesting and complex problems in the Space domain.

Expected Salary Range:

$125,000 - $162,000 per year. Placement within the range is determined by qualifications, job-related criteria, experience, internal equity and market considerations.
