Job summary

Astrion is seeking a Quality and Safety Specialist to join our Kennedy Space Center team in Merritt Island, FL. This full-time, on-site role supports the LASSO II contract and ensures operations meet NASA and federal standards.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years in quality assurance and EHS compliance, with strong communication, organization, and the ability to work both independently and in teams.

Qualifications

• Required degree in quality, engineering, safety, or related field.
• 5+ years in quality assurance and EHS compliance.
• Strong communication, organization, and multi-project management.

Responsibilities

• Provide oversight and implementation support for AS9100D-compliant QMS.
• Serve as primary internal auditor for LASSO II contract; interface with staff and management.
• Act as primary contact between LASSO II labs, NASA Quality, and customer audit teams.
• Perform quality inspection of GSE and flight hardware; support in-house inspectors.
• Conduct site safety, health, and quality assessments across programs.
• Support hazardous operations involving high-pressure gases, toxic materials, propellants, confined spaces, heights.
• Review/WADs and perform hazard analyses; investigate compliance issues with NASA and agencies.
• Collaborate to maintain compliance with federal, NASA, and state safety standards.
