Job summary

Lunar Outpost is seeking a Mission System Cybersecurity Engineer to help secure the Lunar Outpost Mission System and ground systems across their lifecycle. You will embed cybersecurity into design, development and operations, lead compliance with NIST 800-53, and contribute to SSPs and POA&M development in a fast-paced startup setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in engineering, CS, cybersecurity or related field.
• 6+ years in cybersecurity, governance, risk management or compliance roles (Bachelor).
• 4+ years in cybersecurity, governance, risk management or compliance roles (Master).
• Experience with security compliance audits and frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Stand up and maintain security controls aligned to frameworks and requirements.
• Develop, decompose, and trace cybersecurity requirements into architecture and design activities.
• Design, implement, monitor, and maintain security controls in mission systems.
• Lead or assist in security audits; ensure audit readiness and remediation.
• Manage SSPs, POA&Ms, SCTMs and evidence for compliance/supporting authorization.
