Blue Origin is seeking a cyber security engineer to work within the Lunar Permanence unit, shaping the security of safety-critical software for lunar lander products. You’ll collaborate across disciplines to define cyber requirements, standards, and tooling while contributing to long-term product strategy and mission readiness.

The role emphasizes CI/CD security, hands-on guidance to teams, and the creation of scalable, secure development processes.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent experience in a related technical field.
• Experience toward achieving CMMC certification.
• Experience implementing NIST 800-53 controls.
• Experience developing and owning CI/CD pipelines with a security focus.
• 10 years of professional experience.
• Proven ability to monitor, analyze, and provide thoughtful code reviews.
• Strong source control practices and git workflows.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with relevant security standards in collaboration with developers.
• Mentor team on CI/CD security best practices.
• Set direction for project impact, product quality, and engineering efficiency; analyze data to troubleshoot pipelines.
• Improve safety-critical software processes with secure tooling without sacrificing efficiency.
