Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Manager in Denver to lead our mechanics organization for aerospace platforms. You will drive people leadership, technical direction, and program execution from concept through in-orbit support.

You will shape the engineering processes, oversee architecture decisions, and collaborate across systems, manufacturing, and program management to deliver robust hardware solutions. This role offers leadership growth and strategic impact.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 7–9 years of mechanical design/analysis experience in aerospace/space systems.
• 1–3 years of engineering management experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and scale a team of mechanical engineers across multiple programs.
• Define team structure, roles, and performance expectations.
• Drive engineering processes, design standards, and verification frameworks.
• Oversee system-level requirements, trade studies, and architecture decisions.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with systems, manufacturing, and program management.
• Contribute to product roadmap and technical proposal efforts.
