Job summary

AST SpaceMobile is seeking a Production Manager to ensure manufacturing equipment, tools, and processes operate safely and efficiently, coordinating production scheduling, capacity planning, and continuous improvement across composites fabrication, structures assembly, and SLT operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in a technical field and 3+ years in production planning or manufacturing operations.
• Experience supporting composites, structures, or precision assembly operations.
• Knowledge of quality management systems and ISO standards.
• At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
• US work authorization or citizenship.

Responsibilities

• Oversight of frontline leadership and KPI goal attainment.
• Oversee safety protocols and training as the business grows.
• Manage attendance and maintain a positive work environment.
• Motivate and guide production staff to meet targets.
• Maintain safety and health standards to ensure an accident-free site.
• Communicate with upper management on production issues.
• Evaluate machines and resources to minimize downtime.
• Set productivity goals and drive cost-efficiency.
• Develop workflows that improve efficiency while ensuring quality.
• Schedule staff to align with production plans across multiple shifts.
• Support composites, structures, and precision assembly operations.
• Drive continuous improvement using Lean, Six Sigma, and problem solving.
• Ensure compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate across engineering, quality, supply chain, and operations to resolve bottlenecks.
• Maintain schedule discipline and accountability across teams.
• Travel to different locations as needed for business needs.
