Job summary

Northrop Grumman is seeking a Simulation Software Engineer (Hardware-in-the-Loop) to join the Space Sector in Dulles, VA. The role focuses on high-fidelity simulation platforms and interfaces to flight software for space programs, with onsite work and potential TS clearance involvement.

The candidate will contribute to a small design team supporting a NASA space science mission, developing software models, testing, and documentation for internal and external customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or higher in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related STEM with embedded software experience.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a TS clearance; US citizenship required.
• Proficiency in C/C++, Python; scripting on Windows and Linux.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities; experience with CI/CD processes.

Responsibilities

• Establish simulation requirements for hardware-in-the-loop platforms.
• Select interface hardware to simulate space vehicle components.
• Develop simulation models and interfaces to hardware cards (digital/analog/SpaceWire).
• Define simulation testbed harnessing per requirements.
• Interface with hardware engineers in design, build, and test.
• Prepare design documentation and results for customers.
