Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking summer 2027 interns to design and build electronics hardware for satellite communication systems. Interns work with design engineers, own portions of schematics and layouts, and support analysis and hands-on lab work. Projects vary by availability and candidate interests.

Open to electrical engineering students eager to learn the rigor of space electronics. The role emphasizes hands-on hardware development, teamwork, and presenting work to mentors and leadership.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in BS, MS, or PhD in EE or CE at an accredited university.
• GPA of 3.5 or higher.
• Fundamentals in EE topics through coursework.
• Hands-on hardware design experience from projects or internships.
• Experience with schematic capture, PCB layout, bring-up and debugging.
• Experience with lab instruments (oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers, loads, signal generators).
• Excellent written and verbal communication; will present work to peers and leadership.

Responsibilities

• Design and build electronics hardware for satellite communication systems.
• Work side-by-side with design engineers on full-stack hardware development.
• Own portions of schematics and layouts; support analysis and lab work.
• Contribute to project delivery from concept to testing and integration.
