Job summary

Peraton in Mount Laguna, CA is seeking a full-time Engineering Technician to operate the MOBLAS-4 ground station as part of the Space Exploration Network Services and Evolution (SENSE) contract. You will support NASA programs that integrate RF satellite communications technology, performing data collection and routine calibrations.

The role requires handling preventive maintenance, coordinating with a remote engineering team, and following detailed procedures. U.S.

Qualifications

• AS/AA degree and 2+ years of related experience, or 2 years of technical training and 2+ years of related experience, or HS/GED and 6 years of related experience.
• 1 year of related experience as a ground system or console operator.
• Ability to perform standalone shift work.
• U.S. Citizenship is required.

Responsibilities

• Operate the MOBLAS-4 station 8 hours per day, 5 days a week to collect satellite range data.
• Perform regular weekly, monthly, and yearly preventative maintenance on all systems per procedures.
• Complete regular ground tests to calibrate instrumentation and adjustments as needed.
• Coordinate with remote engineering team to troubleshoot system malfunctions and perform corrective maintenance.
• Review blueprints, wiring diagrams, and engineering instructions for assembling equipment.
• Receive technical advice from supervisor or engineer; work is reviewed for technical adequacy.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
