Job summary

K2 Space Corporation in Los Angeles is seeking a Senior MMIC Design Engineer to develop high-performance RF and millimeter-wave ICs for satellite communications. You will own MMIC designs from architecture through tapeout, characterization, and product integration.

You will design PAs, LNAs, and RF switches in GaAs and GaN, simulate and test with VNAs, and collaborate with RF systems, packaging, and antenna teams to enable system-level integration.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years RF/MMIC design experience in GaAs/GaN.
• Experience with PAs, LNAs, or RF switches.
• Strong RF fundamentals: impedance matching, stability, noise, linearity.
• Experience with Cadence/Keysight ADS and EM simulation tools.
• Hands-on RF/mmWave characterization with VNAs, spectrum analyzers, signal generators.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop PAs, LNAs, and RF switches in GaAs and GaN.
• Own designs from architecture/topology through schematic, layout, tapeout, and characterization.
• Optimize for output power, efficiency, linearity, noise figure, bandwidth, and gain.
• Perform RF and EM simulations of passive structures, matching networks, and interconnects.
• Develop test plans and characterize MMICs using RF/millimeter-wave lab equipment.
• Correlate measured performance with simulations and drive improvements.
• Collaborate with RF systems, antenna, packaging, and transceiver IC teams for integration.
• Contribute to architecture trades and development of MMIC capabilities.
