Job summary

K2 Space in Torrance, California, seeks a Senior MMIC Design Engineer to develop high-performance RF/mmWave ICs for next-generation satellite systems. You will own designs from architecture through tapeout, characterization, and integration.

You will design PAs, LNAs, RF switches in GaAs/GaN, perform simulations and measurements with VNAs and spectrum analyzers, and collaborate across RF, packaging, and systems teams to deliver robust, space-grade MMICs.

Qualifications

• MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in designing RF/millimeter-wave MMICs in GaAs and/or GaN technologies.
• Design experience with PAs, LNAs, and/or RF switches with deep expertise in at least one area.
• Strong RF fundamentals: impedance matching, stability, noise, linearity, power handling, nonlinear behavior.
• Experience with Cadence, Keysight ADS, EM simulation tools or equivalent RF/MMIC environments.
• Hands-on RF/mmWave characterization and equipment such as VNAs, spectrum analyzers, signal generators, power meters, load-pull.
• Experience taking designs through tapeout and hardware validation.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop PAs, LNAs, RF switches in GaAs/GaN.
• Own designs from architecture through tapeout and characterization.
• Optimize circuits for power, efficiency, linearity, noise, bandwidth, gain.
• Run RF and EM simulations for layouts and interconnects.
• Develop test plans and characterize MMICs with RF/mmWave lab equipment.
• Correlate measured performance with simulations and drive improvements.
• Collaborate with RF systems, antenna, packaging, and transceiver teams for integration.
