Job summary

K2 Space Corporation in Los Angeles is hiring a microwave/RF engineer to design and develop RF/microwave hardware for the company’s high-power satellite platforms.

You will architect, develop, test, and integrate RF electronics for software defined radio (SDR) systems used on space missions and collaborate with antenna, FPGA, DSP, software, mechanical, and electrical engineers to prototype and refine your designs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in microwave and RF engineering.
• Experience designing multilayer PCBAs and integrating COTS RF ICs in Altium or similar tools.
• Experience with RF modeling/analysis software: Cadence AWR Microwave Office and Keysight ADS.
• Experience with RF test equipment such as VNAs and spectrum analyzers.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-velocity startup atmosphere.

Responsibilities

• Design and development of RF and microwave hardware from UHF 200 MHz through Ka-band 30 GHz, including antennas and amplifiers.
• Design PCBAs for spacecraft including schematic, layout, and bring-up.
• Qualify designs through environmental testing (vibration, shock, TVAC).
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to integrate designs into the spacecraft system.
• Act as technical leader and mentor for the team.
