Job summary

K2 Space is seeking a Senior MMIC Design Engineer in Seattle to lead high-performance RF/mmWave IC development for next-generation satellite systems. You’ll own MMIC designs from architecture through tapeout, characterization, and integration, working with cross-functional teams to deliver robust, scalable solutions.

You will optimize amplifiers, switches, and RF blocks, perform simulations, and drive test plans using VNAs and lab equipment.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field required.
• 5+ years of RF/mmWave MMIC design experience in GaAs and/or GaN.
• Proven experience with PAs, LNAs, or RF switches and MMIC integration.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop PAs, LNAs, and RF switches in GaAs/GaN.
• Own designs from architecture to tapeout and characterization.
• Optimize for power, efficiency, linearity, noise, bandwidth, and gain.
• Perform RF and EM simulations of passive structures, matching networks, and packaging effects.
• Develop test plans and characterize MMICs with RF/millimeter-wave lab equipment.
• Correlate measured performance with simulations to drive improvements.
• Collaborate with RF systems, antenna, packaging, and transceiver teams to define interfaces.
• Contribute to technology evaluation, architecture trades, and MMIC capabilities.
