Job summary

CesiumAstro is seeking a Summer 2027 Manufacturing Intern to gain hands-on experience across manufacturing operations for satellites and aerospace systems. The role focuses on learning, hands-on project work, and collaborating with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced startup environment.

Interns present their work to peers and leadership, with emphasis on strong communication and documentation skills. Must be enrolled in an applicable degree program and ready to contribute to process

Qualifications

• Current enrollment in an accredited manufacturing or engineering degree program.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes and CAD.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with accuracy in documentation.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to changing priorities.
• Proactive and self-motivated with initiative.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with manufacturing engineering to identify process improvements.
• Troubleshoot production issues using engineering principles.
• Create and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and flowcharts.
• Collect and analyze data to identify trends and improvements.
• Support quality control activities including inspections.
• Apply lean manufacturing to reduce waste.
• Stay updated on industry trends and technologies.
