Job summary

Amentum, Houston-based, is seeking a Project Engineer to join HX5 for the EVA Portable Light project in Houston. You will provide design and test support, develop procedures, and verify flight hardware with a collaborative team.

The role requires a bachelor’s in engineering and 2–5 years of related experience, plus the ability to work autonomously, troubleshoot, and prepare technical documents. Competitive benefits and a strong space exploration mission await.

Qualifications

• Requires a bachelor’s degree in engineering and 2–5 years of related experience.
• BS in engineering from an accredited school is required.
• Ability to work autonomously when required.
• Self-motivated, a team player with adaptability to a dynamic environment.
• Ability to operate in a laboratory and perform troubleshooting tasks.
• Ability to prepare written documents and present at meetings.
• Familiarity with Microsoft Office products.

Responsibilities

• Provide design and test support for the EVA Portable Light project.
• Develop test procedures and verification/validation processes.
• Perform testing and verification of flight hardware.
• Maintain baseline test configurations and document changes.
• Generate TPS, DR, and DTP paperwork as needed.
• Collaborate with project managers and teammates for technical support.
• Plan and execute hardware troubleshooting for failures.
• Work with technicians to build and test designed systems.
