Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems in Linthicum, MD, seeks a technically skilled engineer to monitor satellite telemetry, run tests, and develop data analysis scripts. You will contribute to the full space design lifecycle under ER-SEIT, from sensors to orbit operations.

Applicants should hold a BS/MS in STEM with 2+ or 5 years of related experience, and possess DoD Top Secret clearance with SCI access. Proficiency in MATLAB or Python is required, with occasional shift work expected.

Northrop Grumman Space Systems is a strategic partner specializing in delivering intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance solutions for classified and unclassified missions in space. As part of Eastern Region Systems Engineering, Integration and Test (ER‑SEIT), the role provides an opportunity to experience the entire space design lifecycle, from sensors to payloads to full satellites, supporting ClassA to ClassD missions and on‑orbit operational support.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor, trend, and analyze satellite and payload telemetry during ops shifts.
  • Perform system tests with on‑orbit payloads and/or lab assets such as engineering development units and simulators.
  • Develop and script code to analyze and interpret payload data for debugging, troubleshooting, and system performance evaluation.
  • Create, refine, and operate custom software tools for trending, testing, analysis, and operational workflow.
  • Help adjudicate discrepancy reports and resolve anomalies.
Basic Requirements
  • Level2: BS in STEM with 2years of work experience in aerospace or defense industry development or test; or an MS degree with relevant experience.
  • Level3: BS in STEM with 5years of relevant experience; or 3years with an MS.
  • Active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret clearance with ability to obtain and maintain SCI access.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB and/or Python.
  • Willingness to work occasional shifts, nights, and weekends.
Preferred Qualifications
  • BS in Electrical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB and/or Python.
  • Experience with RF test environments.
  • Familiarity with RADAR operation.
  • Experience with RADAR integration and test.
  • Experience conducting on‑orbit mission operations and resolving satellite and ground system anomalies.
  • Active SCI clearance.
Salary

Primary Level: $87,600–$131,400. Secondary Level: $108,800–$163,200. Additional compensation may include overtime, shift differentials, discretionary bonuses, and long‑term incentives.
