Job summary

Northrop Grumman Space Systems in Linthicum, Maryland is seeking an early-career engineer to support on-orbit operations and maintenance for a constellation of Space RADAR satellites. The role involves monitoring telemetry, conducting system tests, and developing scripts to analyze data.

The successful candidate will hold a BS in STEM, have coding skills (MATLAB/Python), and be eligible for a Top Secret clearance with SCI access.

Qualifications

  • BS in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) with any work experience in Aerospace or Defense.
  • Active U.S. Government Top Secret clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with the ability to obtain and maintain SCI approval/access.
  • Coding skills, preferably MATLAB and/or Python.
  • Willingness to support shift work.

We do it all here, on-site, from sensors to payloads to full up spacecraft, supporting Class A to Class D missions. All the way from early mission and concept design to on-orbit operational support.

Northrop Grumman Space Systems in Linthicum, Maryland is seeking an early-career engineer to support on-orbit operations and maintenance (O&M) for a constellation of Space RADAR satellites.

Responsibilities
  • monitoring, trending, and analyzing satellite and payload telemetry during ops shifts.
  • system test with on-orbit payloads and/or lab assets (e.g., engineering development units and/or simulators)
  • coding/script development to analyze and interpret payload data for debug/troubleshooting and system performance evaluation

This position can be staffed at a level 1 or 2 based on the basic qualifications below.

Basic Requirements
  • Level 1: BS in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) with any work experience in Aerospace or Defense industry development or test
  • Level 2: BS in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math) with 2 years of work experience in Aerospace or Defense industry development or test; or any relevant experience with MS degree
  • Must have an active U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with the ability to obtain and maintain SCI approval/access.
  • Coding skills, preferably MATLAB and/or Python
  • Willingness to support shift work
Preferred Qualifications
  • BS in Electrical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering
  • Proficiency coding in MATLAB and/or Python
  • Familiarity with RF test environments
  • Familiarity with RADAR operation
  • Experience with RADAR integration and test
  • Experience conducting on-orbit mission operations and resolving satellite and ground system anomalies
  • Active SCI clearance
Primary Level Salary Range
  • $72,700.00 - $109,100.00
Secondary Level Salary Range
  • $87,600.00 - $131,400.00

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
